  1. Independence High School Clean Up

    October 14, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ Corner of Educational Park Drive and Las Pumas Avenue

    Come join volunteers from the community and students from Independence High School as we clean up the area surrounding the high school and make San José a better place to live in the process! Email us at district4@sanjoseca.gov if you're interested in helping out. Bring sunscreen and a friend. Food and water will be provided.

  1. Community Climate Café

    October 14, 4:00 PM @ Dr. Roberto Cruz - Alum Rock Branch Library

    Yoram Bauman will be joining us for this Community Climate program. He is "the world's first and only stand-up economist" and the co-author of The Cartoon Introduction to Climate Change. He has appeared in Time magazine, on PBS and NPR, and has shared the stage with everyone from Robin Williams to Paul Krugman. http://standupeconomist.com/. In this part book club and part science café, you'll also have the chance to talk with NOAA meteorologist Brian Garcia, and your neighbors about climate change and extreme weather events and how they impact our daily lives in San Jose. Light refreshments will be served.   2. LLGC Oktoberfest 2017

    October 14, 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM

    LLGC Oktoberfest 2017 will take place on October 14, 2017 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Los Lagos Golf Course. We will transform the clubhouse into our very own Oktoberfest here in San Jose for the community to enjoy. There will be a live band playing traditional Oktoberfest music along with a variety of authentic German foods that we will be serving.   1. Walk to End Alzheimer’s

    October 14, 8:00 AM - 11:30 AM @ Guadalupe River Park

    Participants will enjoy live music throughout the event. There will be a “Remembrance Area”, a photo booth, a family area for children to do crafts, have their face painted or receive a balloon animal. There will be one food truck, a coffee truck and pre-packaged snacks and refreshments available as well. Participants will create a Promise Flower Garden upon returning to the park from Santa Clara Street.
